I had a vision of several diamonds that looked almost identical to this picture last Sunday night during our worship service. A diamond is a naturally occurring mineral. It’s known for its exceptional hardness and brilliance. Diamonds are formed under high pressure and temperature conditions deep within the earth’s mantle. They are highly valued gemstones. The word diamond comes from the Greek word Adamas, meaning “unconquerable.” Diamonds are resistant to abrasion. They are the hardest natural substance known. Diamonds have various uses, while most commonly associated with jewelry. This reminds me of the diamond ring and how it symbolizes a union between a man and woman who have chosen to vow their love to one another. A diamond also symbolizes love, purity, and strength. God values covenant in a marriage. When God is in the center of a marriage, the marriage becomes a threefold cord, “Ecclesiastes 4:12” it’s not quickly broken. The diamond’s hardness is used to represent the ability to withstand pressure, both physically and spiritually. Diamonds go through a refining process, which includes cleaning, cutting, and polishing to transform rough stones into sparkling gems. This process involves several steps, including removing impurities, shaping the diamond, and creating facets to maximize brilliance. These facts about diamonds correspond to scripture. Isaiah 48:10 See I have refined you, though not as silver, I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. This verse shows that God refines His people through various trials and hardships. 1 Peter 1:7. “These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith, of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” This verse highlights that trials believers face refine their faith. After diamonds go through the refining process, there has to be an inspection completed before the certification can be issued. The diamonds are inspected for clarity, color, carat, and weight. Our fiery trials are never in vain. They are meant to prune, cut, remove impurities, and shape us into the image of GOD just like the process the diamonds went through. And God will inspect to see if any new fruit has been produced in us after these fiery trials. Because His main goal is to reach our hearts and not to deliberately hurt or cause us pain. After we go through the fiery trials of life and overcome them, we should have a different view. A new lens of perspective reflecting back on past hurts, pain, disappointments, rejection, hope deferred, and betrayal. The refining process brings spiritual enlightenment and clarity. We can become more effective in the kingdom of God when there is spiritual clarity. Just like diamonds are precious stones that hold great value, our Heavenly Father values His people and we are precious in His sight.
Blessings, Jennifer
